Chris Stutzki, Ph.D.

Founder, Stutzki Engineering


Chris Stutzki is the founder and owner of Stutzki Engineering, a small consulting and engineering firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he works as a consultant to architects for conceptual designs of innovative glazed and lightweight structures, facades and skylights. Stutzki and his team are members of the ASTM E1300 standards committee for glass, and the IASS working group for metal spatial structures — the engineering force behind many well-known facade and glass structures. Before founding his own firm in 2004 he was chief engineer of the spaceframe and glass enclosure company MERO, and a studio professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology’s College of Architecture, where he taught facade technology and structures, and served as an advisor for Ph.D. students. Stutzki holds a Ph.D. in civil/structural engineering from the Technical University of Aachen in Germany.
