Session 1 – Thermal Expansion

DEVELOPMENTS IN ENERGY-EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE ENCLOSURES
Our notion of what constitutes an efficient and sustainable facade is evolving, shaped by energy conservation codes, advances in energy modeling and a growing field of environmental design consultants. To focus the topic, we're bringing together three complementary minds: a professor who wrote the book on contemporary curtain wall architecture, an architect with an uncompromising commitment to energy-efficiency, and a sustainability consultant working on global projects with a progressive agenda. Join Scott Murray of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Carly Coulson of COULSON, Molly Eagen of Atelier Ten, and Lisa Matthiessen of HGA as they interlace an historical overview of facades and energy with examples of built work that have realized radical reductions in resource use.
