Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), operated by the University of California for the US DOE, employs over 3200 scientists, engineers and support staff who bring "science solutions to the world" by addressing some of the nation's most critical technical and policy challenges. For 40 years the Windows and Envelope Materials Group has operated as DOE's Core Lab for glazing, fenestration, façade systems, daylighting and shading solutions, partnering with designers, owners and the facade industry to develop technologies, tools, data bases, ratings, and standards that are widely used globally. LBNL’s R&D team offers access to unique facade test laboratories, state of the art simulation tools and product data, field test programs in buildings and over 400 free downloadable technical reports and software packages on façade-related topics.
