Transforming the Marketplace with High-Performance Facades

Helen Sanders • Steve Selkowitz

This session discusses the research conducted by the Façade Tectonics Institute for the Department of Energy on the barriers to adoption of high-performance fenestration and façade systems in non-residential U.S. new and existing buildings. It identifies states and cities where adoption of high-performance facades is accelerating and the drivers that have facilitated adoption beyond national averages. In addition, the session provides actionable information that will support the generation of new concepts, for market facing initiatives, deployment programs, critical gap-filling R&D, decision support tools, and supporting public policies which if implemented could accelerate the adoption of high-performance façade solutions. _______________________________________________________________________________________
