Collaboration is crucial in the building industry as it significantly improves project outcomes, including on-time delivery, budget adherence, and client satisfaction, by enabling better communication and coordination between all stakeholders, ultimately leading to increased efficiency and productivity across the construction lifecycle; research shows that projects utilizing effective collaborative practices can see up to a 30% improvement in performance metrics. - McKinsey & Company
The Collaborative Achievement Award is intended to recognize the teams responsible for project, research, product development, or other advances in façade technology, who have made extraordinary contributions to the art, science and technology of building façade systems through demonstrable, deep collaborative processes.
To be clear, this award need not be related to a specific project but can be for an innovation or outstanding result in a project, product, or process that resulted from the efforts of a team, especially a team represented by stakeholders from diverse fields of experience. This award should exemplify one of the main tenets of FTI in “breaking down the silos” between those professions involved in the design, procurement and execution of high-performance and sustainable façade systems. Novel submissions are encouraged; any extraordinary team-based contribution is welcome.
Submissions for the Collaborative Achievement Award category will be evaluated in the overarching context of innovation and sustainability, which may include diverse considerations ranging from design concepts to project delivery strategies, supply chain management and lifecycle performance attributes.
In addition to the General Assessment Criteria, the hierarchy of consideration for the Collaborative Achievement Award will be:
10% — Clarity (narrative and graphic representation)
45% — Innovation (alternative or out-of-the-box approaches that fostered an exceptional collaborative process and outcome)
45% — Sustainability (The extent to which collaboration and collaborative processes among the team demonstrate a definitive role in enhancing resilience and sustainability in the façade industry, buildings and urban habitat.)
