The Unsung Hero Award is an acknowledgement that there are often unrecognized individuals and entities that play a pivotal and indispensable role in the realization of extraordinary facade system contributions.
To employ a sports metaphor, the unsung hero is not the ball carrier but the blocker without whom the ball carrier could not score. This award is intended to bring such individuals or entities to the forefront.
Accomplishments of the individuals or entities recognized here should be consistent with the goals of the Institute in advancing the art, science and technology of conceptualizing, designing, planning, and constructing high performance building facades for the benefit of planet and people. Novel submissions are encouraged; any individual or entity that, in the nominator’s opinion, has made extraordinary contributions in the advancement of some aspect of facade design, procurement, engineering, fabrication, installation and long-term performance, is welcome.
